Why You Can't Trust God

Why do we find it difficult to trust God at times, even when we know that He will not fail us?
Yes, we have read it a "thousand" times in the Bible, that we should Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5.
But whether we want to or not, we still find ourselves doubting the most supreme being and creator of the heavens and the earth.

Why does it happen? Let's find out as we go on.

In the beginning, God created us in His own image. He created us to be a reflection of Him and His glory. He desired to be in constant and continuous fellowship with us, because He loves us dearly. According to his word in Isaiah 43:21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. He made us to specifically worship him, because And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31.

But, in the course of living, man fell, due to the quest for unnecessary knowledge and power. This is what is affecting you and I today. Right from the time man fell, he became afraid of God, he lost the peace and comfort he once had whenever God visited him. This created a gap between God and man. But God, in his incomparable and unconditional love, could not put us away forever. Because He constantly loves and wants to fellowship with us, He bridged the gap by giving His blessed Son Jesus Christ as a remedy for our iniquity. Praise God!😃
Everyone who has confessed and accepted this free offer of salvation can testify of the joy and peace that was once lost in Eden.
But why then do we, even when we have confessed and accepted Jesus Christ, and have gained access to his unlimited attention, find it difficult to wholeheartedly trust Him?
This is the answer: WE DON'T KNOW HIM ENOUGH TO TRUST HIM.

Remember the last time you told someone you didn't trust them?, or someone asked you "do you trust me?" and you said No? That was because you hadn't Known them enough to trust them, that was you sincerely speaking how you felt. Or, you just became friends with someone you hadn't met or known before, you wouldn't divulge your entire life history to that person in the first meeting until he/she has earned your trust.

Yes! That is it, the person has to do everything to make sure you believe you can be safe with them. What a great pity if, after that person has earned your trust and have got what they want, they actually turned out to be deceivers! That's exactly what happened to Eve in the Garden of Eden that led to man's fall.☹️

The Bible has enough proof of why we should trust God. Check them out:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Delight yourself in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:4-5

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
Isaiah 26:3-4

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose trust is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

Infact, you reading this, means you're alive and that is enough to make you trust wholly in God, the only one who can take and give life.

In summary, we find it difficult to trust God because we really don't know him. We as humans, are limited and are prone to believing only what we can perceive with our five senses. But because God cannot be seen, or felt, or be perceived in any form, we are less likely to turn to Him first, when trouble arises. Because of this, we experience less victory and happiness in our lives, due to our ignorance of His mighty and supernatural power. It is only the truth that can set you free from whatever it is that is holding you bound. And the WORD OF GOD contains the truth we've been looking for our whole lives.
God himself is the Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
This means, to know God, you have to read the Bible and spend time with God because it's in it God is telling us all about Himself and why we should trust Him.
And those who know your name put
their trust in you,
for you, O LORD, have not forsaken
those who seek you. Psalm 9:10

So there you have it, my friend, on how you can build your trust in God. Here are the key points:
• To trust God better, know Him.
• To know God:
   1. Read your Bible Constantly and consistently.
   2. Always spend time in His presence.

And Victory will always be your song!
